PRL is a major publishing venue for the physical sciences; Nick will share his experience of becoming a scientific editor and discuss the challenges the role entails. This is a unique opportunity to see the publishing process “from the inside.” For students and postdocs, this is also an opportunity to explore a possible, perhaps less conventional, career path in science.

Title: Physical Review Letters in 2026
Abstract: Physical Review Letters (PRL) is the premier journal of the American Physical Society (APS) dedicated to publishing research that is high-impact and broad interest. I will give an update of the editorial work we perform at PRL and the Physical Review family more broadly, highlighting the PRL's recent growth and changes to our policies, in particular related to AI use in science and publishing.
