Title: Topological Quantum Group(oid)s from the SYK model Abstract: The recent discovery of a q-deformed AdS_2 as a potential bulk counterpart of the double-scaled SYK model has (re)sparked physicists’ interest in non-commutative geometry. In this talk, I will review some holographic aspects of the double-scaled SYK model to first motivate the appearance of quantum groups. Then, I will explain why the 'usual' algebraic quantum groups are not enough and why the solution lies in the theory of topological quantum groups. I will end the talk by briefly discussing some results enabled by this mathematical formalism and their relation to the SYK model. In particular, I will explain why AdS_2 and dS_2 become much more similar (in an appropriate sense) once we deform them.
