Title: Soft functions from phase-space integrals with Heaviside functions

Abstract: Perturbative computations in QCD are plagued by infrared singularities, which cancel at cross section level between virtual and real-emission corrections, as well as collinear renormalization of parton distribution functions. Among the building blocks of slicing or subtraction schemes, which organize this cancellation in an observable- and process-independent way, are so-called soft functions. In this talk, I will discuss two examples: the zero-jettiness soft function at N3LO QCD, as well as double-soft subtraction terms for the nested soft-collinear subtraction scheme. I will outline technical aspects of the their computation by explaining how to leverage IBP identities with non-zero boundary contributions, as well as the method of differential equations in the computation of phase-space integrals which are constrained by Heaviside step functions.
