5d Higgs branches are renormalized at finite coupling
We compute the chiral ring of a simple class of five-dimensional N=1 SCFTs at strong coupling. By deforming the SCFTs with the instanton mass and flowing to weak coupling, we show that the chiral ring depends on the gauge coupling. As a consequence, the Higgs branch geometry receives finite-coupling corrections, despite standard perturbative non-renormalization arguments. In particular, F-term equations only partially capture the structure of the vacua, and additional strong-coupling effects are required to recover the full Higgs branch.
