Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics is now accepting applications for the Perimeter Scholars International Bridge (PSI Bridge) undergraduate program.

Perimeter Institute recognizes that there can be many barriers students face in reaching their potential, such as not having had the opportunity to study advanced undergraduate physics, having encountered barriers in their studies, or wanting to switch to theoretical physics from a different background (e.g., engineering, mathematics). In order to help students overcome these barriers and acquire skills that will help them apply to a physics graduate program, Perimeter Institute has introduced the PSI Bridge program.

PSI Bridge is a free part-time online program designed to supplement the final year of a degree program or facilitate the transition from full-time work to graduate school.

The program invites students to join its world-leading research community for a part-time ten-week online school in theoretical physics beginning in May 2025. In addition, some of these students will also come to Perimeter to participate in groundbreaking research through a paid internship program. All students will learn research tools and collaboration skills while immersed (online or in person) in the multi-disciplinary environment of the world's largest independent theoretical physics research centre.

Applicants must plan to apply to a graduate program in physics that starts in 2026 or later.

The Mainz Physics Academy (MPA) of the JGU invites applications for the newly established Excellence Track. The Excellence Track is a certificate program designed as an extension of the Master of Science Physics program of JGU for students interested in research and intending to pursue a subsequent doctorate. The program is aimed at high-achieving, research-oriented students and enables them to further develop their scientific knowledge as well as complementary and transferable skills in a structured program. Students who successfully complete the “Excellence Track” together with their Master at JGU degree will be considered strong candidates for a doctorate in one of the research groups in Mainz. A limited number of students of the Excellence Track program can apply for financial support. These scholarships are endowed with €861 per month for a maximum duration of two years.

The Mainz Physics Academy (MPA) offers several PhD Fellowships for outstanding graduates. The selected fellows will receive an attractive salary (approx. 2/3 of a standard postdoc salary) as well as individual travel and research funds. They can participate in all MPA activities, including lecture courses, seminars, retreats, summer schools, workshops and social events.
